Actress Ameesha Patel, who had previously raised concerns about unpaid dues during the making of ‘Gadar 2’, revealed her unique relationship with filmmaker Anil Sharma, whom she considers as a father figure.
As ‘Gadar 2’ gears up for its release, with Ameesha reprising her role as Sakeena and Sunny Deol returning as Tara Singh, the cast recently unveiled the highly-awaited film’s trailer. During the event, Ameesha, dressed in her character, spoke candidly about her bond with Anil Sharma, describing it as “bitter-sweet.”
In her statement, Ameesha admitted that she and Anil have their share of conflicts and even resort to blocking each other on social media platforms. However, she emphasized that despite the disagreements, their relationship remains intact. “We fight, we block each other on WhatsApp, social media. But we are back. That’s our relationship. That’s what we share,” Ameesha expressed, shedding light on their unique dynamics.
Previously, Ameesha had raised concerns about the non-payment of dues to various crew members involved with ‘Gadar 2’, including makeup artists, costume designers, and technicians. She took to Twitter to address the issue, highlighting how some professionals did not receive their rightful remuneration from Anil Sharma Productions. However, she also praised the intervention of co-producer Zee Studios, which stepped in and ensured that all outstanding dues were settled.
‘Gadar 2’ is set in 1971 and follows Tara Singh’s journey back to Lahore, Pakistan, amidst an anti-India campaign, to bring back his son Charanjeet.
The film, co-produced by Anil Sharma and Zee Studios, serves as the long-awaited sequel to the iconic ‘Gadar’ after two decades. Fans can look forward to its release on August 11th.
